Mon Repos beach is home to
Australia's best known and most accessible sea turtle rookery,
and it is a short drive away from our resort. During November
to March, ranger guided tours operate on the beach, giving
you the unique opportunity to watch sea turtles nesting and
hatchlings make their way to the ocean.
Rangers take groups of visitors
down to the beach at night, and provide lots of infomation
about the turtles, the purpose of the rookery, this unique
environment and the research that takes place.

Bundaberg offers you the closest access to the Great Barrier
Reef known as the Southern Great Barrier Reef. The pristine
waters and reefs of Lady Elliot Island and Lady Musgrave Island
& Lagoon contain some of the most diverse fish and coral
species anywhere in the world. Here you will see or encounter
endless varieties of colourful fish, turtles, giant clams, sea
stars, corals, anemones, eels, sponges, dolphins, manta rays,
whales and many more incredible creatures. And every year the
giant sea turtles lumber up to our beaches to lay their eggs
… and the majestic humpback whales return each year to
play in our waters from July to October. The Southern Great
Barrier Reef is truly a wildlife extravaganza!
