Mon Repos Conservation Park is home to the Largest Loggerhead Turtle Rookery in the Southern Hemisphere. Every year hundreds of turtles make their way to Mon Repos Beach to lay their clutches of eggs. After a 6-8 week incubation period the hatchlings make their way from the sand dunes to the big blue ocean. Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services offer Ranger Guided Tours from November to March for the opportunity to get up close and personal with these magnificent sea creatures.

Learn all about marine turtles, conservation and research programs at the Mon Repos Turtle Centre, open 9am to 2pm, 7 days a week, all year round (except 25 December and 25 April). Entry is free, however, bookings and fees apply for the Turtle Tales Immersive Experience (operating daily) and the Mon Repos Turtle Encounters that operate during turtle nesting and hatching seasons (Nov – Mar). 

The ranger guided Turtle Encounter tours will operate nightly from 9th November 2024 until 23rd March 2025 (Closed Christmas Eve – 24 December, Christmas Day – 25 December & New Years Eve – 31st December). This is a MUST DO experience but make sure you book well in advance, tickets for the Mon Repos Turtle Encounters sell out quickly!
